Zirconium Crowns

The teeth structure filling down in a minimal amount from the surface, approximately 1-2 mm or less. A crown is fitted on the abraded teeth area. And the final stage, it is fully adapted to the tooth with final check and cemented. Patients can use it without any discrimination from the natural teeth.

The light transmittance of Zirconium Crown is higher than metal fused porcelain crown. It doesn’t create dark colour and you won’t encounter problems such as black colour reflection from the gum line which may be in the metal fused porcelain crowns in time.

In addition, the light transmission feature of Zirconium Crown disappears the matte appearance, and a healthier, more transparent and more natura appearance is obtained thanks to the teeth getting and closest appearance to their original form. Metal which is the substructure of classical porcelain crowns, creates an opaque appearance on teeth to appear lifeless and artificial. This is prevented by Zirconium.

Its content is not metal, it is not possible t change the taste or cause odour.

Due to the smooth and slippery surface, there wont be plaque accumulation. For this reason, it is not affected by coloured food such as coffee, tea and cigarettes. Its colour always stays as applied.

Just like our natural teeth, crowns should be brushed twice a day and flossed once a day. If desired mouth shower can be used. With regular check-ups in every 6 months, problem that may occur in the future are prevented.

If the regular check-ups are done in every 6 months and regular oral hygiene is provided, it can be used for many years. Inside of the crowns there are teeth which are still living tissues. If anything happens in the roots, the life of the crowns may be shortened. As long as the roots are healthy, crowns can be used for many years.

Zirconium crowns can be applied at any age, following eruption of permanent teeth. However, it is in the period of development till the age of 18-20 and space between the teeth can be observed as a result of the enlargement of the chin.
